DJ Kool Herc Files Lawsuit Against HBO-blogged by @djb.jewelz The legendary #DJKoolHerc is making plans to file a lawsuit against #HBO concerning their new show #Vinyl. The show tells the story about the beginning of #hiphop and the music industry during the 1970s. But it is one of the show's characters that Herc has an issue with. Mr. Clive Campbell is a key character in the show, especially as the story goes deep into the history of hip-hop. #TheNewYorkPost says that Herc was approached by HBO and offered $10k to be a consultant for the show, but Herc declined. But now it seems that the network used his image anyway. The attorney of HBO says the company has a right to use a real-life person as inspiration for a character, especially if they're not portraying them negatively. The station assures that Herc's allegations are not valid.
